One of the most important tasks you need to do online is to get as much traffic to your websites and blogs as you can. The more traffic you can get – the more sales that you will make of your own products and products that you are recommending via your your affiliate link .

Here Are Ten Free Ways Of Getting Traffic To Your Websites And Blogs:

1. Blogger Blogs

Create a free blog using Blogger. It is fast and so easy to use that you can be up and running within minutes, it really is that simple.

Make sure that your blog is about a subject that is related to your niche and link it back to your main website or blog.  As Google owns Blogger they get indexed a lot faster than others & you start to see the benefits quite quickly.

2. Participate In Forum Discussions

Most forums will allow you to place a signature in your profile that shows up every time you make a post.  This is a great way of getting your website address shown to people that might be interested in your products or services.

To locate some forums in your niche head over to Google and enter Your Niche /Forum.

Then once you’ve joined,  make sure that you read the rules of the forum first before posting as they vary from forum to forum and then go and introduce yourself to the other members.

Do not self promote as soon as you join though as you need to be an active member of the forum, share your knowledge & help the other members when needed.

If you provide the answers to other peoples problems in a helpful & informative way, you will find that people will click on your website link in your signature to find out more about you.

3. Viral Marketing

Create an ebook about a subject that you know a lot about and then give it away for free. It doesn’t have to be a 60 page  long ebook , 7 – 12 pages will do nicely.

Make sure that inside the ebook you write an about the author section & a link back to your websites, then go and submit your ebook to some free ebook directories so you can get your ebook seen by a lot of people.

4. Using Twitter

Twitter is the 3rd most popular social networking site behind Facebook & My Space with a massive 54, 218,73 visits each month and it’s growing daily. More & more people are using the power of Twitter to not only get lots of free traffic but to brand themselves online too.

If you haven’t already signed up for your  free account with Twitter  yet then I recommend you go and create one now so that you can take advantage of the 54, 218,73 people that are just waiting to hear about your website.

Start networking with other like-minded people, retweet other peoples posts but like on forums DON’T self promote straight away as nobody like’s someone that’s shouting Buy From Me so don’t do it or you will loose followers fast.

5. Article Marketing

Writing articles and submitting them to article directories is a very effective way of getting free traffic. Thousands of people go to article directories every day looking for content for their newsletters and blogs.

If you write a 300 – 500 word article that is informative and has an attention grabbing headline there is a very good chance that your article will be passed around and end up on other peoples websites, giving you and your site lots of free exposure.

Don’t forget to add a resource box at the end of your article telling them a little bit about you, and more importantly a link back to your website.

Some good article directories to start off with are:

6. Blog Comments

Try to leave comments on other blogs with a similar theme to yours ( do follow blogs if you can). If you add to the conversation and provide helpful comments then people will click on your links to find out more about you.

Try to be one of the first people to leave a comment on a new post as your comment and your website link will be right up at the top of the page for all the other visitors to see when they go to leave their comments.

Subscribe to their rss feed so you know when their blog is updated then head straight over  before anyone else and leave your comments.

7. Add An RSS Feed To Your Website/Blog

Another good way of getting free traffic is to make sure that you add an RSS feed to your site which allows your visitors to be notified whenever you make a new post.

Go to Feedburner .com and set one up & then make sure you add the “What Would Seth Godin Do” plug-in to your Wordpress blog so that you can add a message to your new blog visitors asking them to subscribe to your rss feed.

8. Social Bookmarking

Social Bookmarking sites like Digg and Mister Wong  allow people to bookmark their favourite websites, favourite blog posts and favourite articles that they have read and share them with others.

You have to sign up for an account first before you can start bookmarking but it’s very quick and easy to do. Every time you post on your blog make sure you go and bookmark your post to all the top social bookmarking sites.

You can’t just bookmark your own posts though as this can be seen as spamming & it doesn’t look good so make sure you bookmark other peoples blog posts and articles with a similar topic to yours. If you do you will find that they will bookmark you back which will give you more links pointing back to your own site.

Also encourage your website visitors to bookmark your posts  by adding a share this button to your website that will show up at the end of each post that you make. If you write a good article you will find that your visitors will happily share it with others.

9. Optimizing Your Website

Another way of generating free traffic to your websites is to make sure that you optimize your websites correctly for the search engines. You can do this by making sure you have your keywords in the title of your pages and in the main content. Don’t go overboard and stuff your pages with keywords as it has to sound natural too.

If you are providing quality content on your websites and updating your content on a regular basis the search engine robots will visit your website more frequently.

Also, try to get as many incoming links in as you can by doing all the other traffic generation methods that I’ve mentioned in this post . It all adds up to a higher page rank in Google which is what we’re all aiming for.

The more of each you do….the higher up you will be!.

If you are a member of a good forum ask the other members that have a similar theme to yours if they want to do a link exchange with you or if you have a blog ask for a blog link swap. You add their links to your blogroll in return for them adding yours.

10. Making Guest Posts On Other Blogs.

Sometimes us bloggers find it difficult to think of subjects to write about and welcome guest posts from other bloggers. For the blog owner, they get more content for their blogs and for the guest post writer it gives them more exposure and they also get a link back to their own websites.

Contact some blog owners in your niche and ask them if they will allow you to write an article for their blog that will be of value to their visitors. You will be surprised at how many people will say yes.

Sure you will get a few no thank-you’s along the way but don’t take it personal, just move on till you find one that says yes.

If you start implementing some of the above  free traffic  methods into your daily routine you will soon start to see the results of all your hard work.

Warm Regards
